Well, if I havn't, I'm absolutely terrible at updating blogs, as you can see. I was just lurking about the interwebs when I realized, hey, I have a blog, and I don't think I've posted in it for a while. Sure enough, as per usual, I don't even remember which e-mail address I use for the login. Sure enough, as per usual, I check when I last updated, only to realize its been approximately 2 months since I updated.
Okay, last I posted, I was at the point in the semester where I was trying to balance off show rehearsals, and school. So the show turned out to be absolutely amazing, one of the best experiences I've had at Molloy, and to the entire casts' surprise, we had a great turnout. All my amazing friends and family came out to see which made it even more special for me <3. And thus, most likely ends my theatrical career.
Once the show was over, it was crunch time. Between that huge seminar paper, pointless Forensics assignments, and a whole ton of other things that I don't even remember now because it seems like the last month of college was forever ago, I worked, I ate, I spent a lot of time on campus, and I spent a lot of time with friends.
Finals week, because of the massive amount of take home finals/presentations that were considered to be our final, was pretty much a breeze.
After that, Gala. Probably the most amazing weekend anyone could ask for to close their college career. We got dressed up, took lots of pictures, we danced, we slept in a tent, and had croissants and brie for breakfast. The night was a good night. The following day/night was pretty awesome as well.
Between Gala and Graduation was a mix of family things, hang outs, Graduation parties, catching up with old friends, getting to know new ones.
Graduation itself was a pretty bittersweet event. As excited as I was to finally graduate, it was a little sad to realize that I'll probably never walk into our common room/cafeteria and see all the familiar faces that I'm used to seeing on a daily basis.
^ Okay so I think I typed this up around July, it seems.
And again, I must apologize for my lack of posts. Things are a whole lot crazier than I thought they would be since I started up school.
So, basically, I spent my summer exploring Singapore, seeing friends, relaxing, catching up on sleep before life would get sucked out of me once school started.
And boy, med school has really lived up to expectations, and then some.
We basically started the second week of August, with 2 days of orientation (Friday, and the following Monday) and then classes started right away that Tuesday. It has been absolutely non-stop since we started. Well, it should not have been, but it was.
Started off med school with an Introduction class, which was basically a crash course in the not-so-basic sciences. Boy was that quite the clusterfuck that I was warned about by second years. But, thankfully, we finished that in the first week of October. Then, we immediately (nope, no break at all between the two blocks) moved into Musculoskeletal. And boy, did I love MSK. Really, I did. To the point where I started even considering Orthopedics. Mostly because of the Ortho professor that we had (I absolutely LOVED him), but because that stuff just made sense to me. Who knows, maybe I will end up being a carpenter for bones. I'm going to have to hit up the gym more often if that's the case though. We'll see.
So this is where the "it should not have been" so non-stop but it was part comes in. In the middle of MSK, we had that oh so lovely hurricane Sandy that blew out an entire week of school, setting back our exam schedule to an even more of a clusterfuck than Intro was. So basically, they pushed back our trifectas (OMM practical, Anatomy practical and final exam) to AFTER Thanksgiving break, but all the while we were still starting Integ right on time. So, we were learning about skin stuff, while still trying to find time to study MSK, and then after MSK was finally over, we had about a week to cram for the Integ exam that was coming soon after. The stress level was incredible, but thankfully, I made it out of MSK with a Pass, and as of now, I'm still passing Integ.
So right now, I'm on Christmas break, which, really isn't a break because well, we have our last Integ exam coming up soon after we return.
No rest for the weary.
Anyway, must head back to studying, just wanted to take a few minutes to update on life, or lack-there-of.
I'll post again soon with more about what it's like to be where I am :)

The semesters finally winding down!
Oh man. This semester really flew by. Easter break was last weekend, so, as always, Easter break marks basically the end of the semester.
Naturally, that means all of my teachers are freaking out over the lack of grades they have for us. Ergo, naturally, I have a shitton of things to get done before finals week. Naturally, it's the week of the show, so none of this stuff is actually getting done until after the Sunday show. Good stuff.
So the show's been going really well. I've been off book for about a week now, which would be disappointing if I weren't, since I have all of like 5 lines in the show. Opening night is a week from today, so basically, we've just been building the sets, working out lighting, and running the show over and over again. Thankfully, we have next couple of days off from rehearsal, give my body some time to rest. I'm not looking forward to an 8am rehearsal on Saturday though, that's as hell for sure.
After the show, basically there's one more week of school, then finals week, and finally Gala. Then we have like a week of nothingness which means I will get to finally SLEEP and just chill. I'm very much looking forward to that :D and then May 21st is Graduation. I basically just summarized my next month into a post. This is either gonna fly by so fast, or drag on forever. Let's hope it's the former. I would really like to just be done.

Busy Busy Busy
Oh dear me. I'm terribly sorry. This last semester has not been as free and easy going as I thought it would be.
With less than 3 weeks until the show, I've pretty much been spending more time in school than I do at home, which is craaazy.
As far as school goes, I'm getting all my stuff done. My seminar term paper is almost complete. It's always that last page that's the hardest to get through :(
As far as med school goes, I'm getting new forms to fill out and submit basically on a weekly basis, which is nicely paced, so nothing too stressful. This week I got the papers to activate my new school e-mail address, which means I can finally join the network yay!
That's pretty much it. Been trying to make the most out of my second semester senior year, spending time with friends as much as humanly possible, so naturally, sleep has NOT been much of an option as of late. But it's okay. I make up for it on the weekends. Sort of.

HOLY COW I'M IN
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
I'm so terribly sorry. But there really are no words to express how FREGGIN HAPPY I AM RIGHT NOW. So I start off the entry with the first words out of my mouth as soon as I opened the envelope. Accepted into my first choice school? HELLFREGGING YEAH
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
...okay I'm done
...NO WAIT I LIED NO IM NOT
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES OMFGGGG YES YES YES YES
When I opened the letter. I laughed. I cried. I perspired. I didn't really know what else to do. Except just let all my emotions pour out. All this hard work for the last 4 years. All the hours that I spent at the hospital instead of going out with friends. All the parties I had to leave early because I had to get up to go to the hospital the following day. HOLY SCHMIGOLIES ALL FCKING WORTH IT NOW.
I apologize for the incredible amount of caps locks that's going on in this entry. I try to avoid that as much as I can but you know what? Its TOTES appropriate right now. And pretty much the only way I can convey my excitement and happiness.
Okay. I'm still shaking from excitement and it's been a good 6 hours since I opened the envelope. I'll try to update with a more coherent entry soon.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
So, Grease was cancelled, since we literally had 3 guys who auditioned. That's not nearly enough for the T-Birds. So last Wednesday, they re-auditioned everybody and recast them for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Problem is, there really is no ensemble, so whoever didn't make a part, didn't make the show basically.
After a grueling few hours of singing high notes that I really can't sing, but tried to belt out anyway, I came home with no voice, so I immediately went for the Calamansi juice/honey concoction and salvaged my voice.
Welp later that night, we got the cast list. AAAAAAAAAANDDDD I made it (:
Here's my character summary:
Marcy Park: A recent transfer from Virginia, Marcy placed ninth in last year’s nationals. She speaks six languages, is a member of all-American hockey, a championship rugby player, plays Chopin and Mozart on multiple instruments, sleeps only three hours a night, hides in the bathroom cabinet, and is getting very tired of always winning. She is the poster child for the Over-Achieving Asian, and attends a Catholic school called "Our Lady of Intermittent Sorrows." She is also not allowed to cry.
I must say, I LOLed when I read this.

Soon... I hope
Holy cow, this one month wait really has dragged on. It feels like I've been waiting for years. It definitely does not help that I've literally got nothing to do to keep myself occupied in the meantime. According to SDN, students who interviewed Jan 25/26 are starting to hear back from the school, so, I'm hoping that means I'll hear back from them soon. Hoping. Soon. PLEASE.
The lack of schoolwork that exists in my life right now is actually killing me, and is not making this wait seem any shorter. I'm bored out of my mind!!
I thought auditioning and getting involved in Grease would help occupy my time, but with rehearsals that keep getting canceled, yeah I'm pretty much stuck doing absolutely nothing again. Like right now, I'm sitting at school, bored out of my mind, because I was supposed to have rehearsal this morning, but of course, I got to school only to find out that rehearsal's been canceled. Too lazy to go back home.
One good thing about this easy semester, is that I actually have time to watch things. I've recently gotten addicted to this show from a few years ago, Jericho, which takes place in a small town in Kansas, just after a ton of major US cities have been nuked to hell and back. Now, I know how to make ice without power to run a refrigerator or freezer. Coolsies.

Interview: DONE
Well, that was quite a painless process. Won't post details on the interview, but I felt really good coming out of it. Didn't feel like crying like some of my fellow interviewees that day.
No real updates, things are kind of slow at school, so I get to spend some time working on my drawings for art..
This is actually going to be my next project
Professor said to bring in something that is meaningful to you, and well, I love my heart stuff. It's a work in progress. The aorta's a little funky, I'm trying to get it to look like an aorta, and failing miserably. Oh well, I have a few more days to work on it, before I start transferring it over to the canvas -____-;;
On another note:
This is pretty awesome. I was absolutely fascinated by this. And some people wonder why I can't do anything else but be a doctor.

I'm really bad at this blog thing
I really am. So sorry about that. I can't believe the last time I updated this thing was way before this last semester.
The rest of my summer was amazing, I really can't ask for better people to have spent it with, relaxing and such. But obviously, because of all the time that I spent studying and what not, my summer was just way too short.
Then the semester started. Scores came back on the first day of classes, unfortunately. I improved by 2 points, with an overall improvement of 3 points. Only good thing was that I was able to cut out some schools, which, honestly, I'm happy about, because those secondaries were UBER expensive.
I started considering schools in the Philippines to apply to, and really only looked at my mom's alma mater, which required that I take another admissions test, the NMAT, which actually looks harder than the MCAT, so I threw out that idea.
The entire was pretty much consumed by Cell Bio, Research, and completing the secondary applications for the schools I was still applying to. I got all of them in well before the deadline, and I got some rejections even before the semester ended, but that's fine.
The majority of my break I spent away in the Philippines, which was perfect. A good way to just escape and be with family that I really don't get to see all that often, which, at times, makes me sad.
While I was away, I got my first positive email from a school, which happens to be one of my top choice schools, saying that I got an invitation for an interview. That's right. I said interview. Which I scheduled as soon as I got back, and it is scheduled for February 7.
Aside from that, this semester seems to be pretty relaxed. For now.
We shall see as time passes.
